Police hunt for clues after overnight shooting in Raleigh

Police were searching for a motive after two men were shot early Saturday in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police were searching for a motive after two men were shot early Saturday in Raleigh.

Emergency workers were called to the area at New Bern Avenue and Plainview Drive around 1 a.m. When they arrived, there were no victims at the scene but one man sought medical care at WakeMed in Raleigh and another man went to WakeMed's facility in Garner.

Police said the men's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Investigators have not yet identified the victims or said what may have prompted the gunfire. Police also have not said if any arrests have been made or if suspects were still at large.
