Police: Fayetteville woman raped after finding man in her home

— Fayetteville police are investigating after a woman found a man in her home who then sexually assaulted her.

Detectives said the rape happened at a home in the 1000 block of Southern Avenue on Nov. 24.

The victim left the home and returned around 4:30 a.m. When she returned home, she found the suspect in the house and confronted him.

Detectives said the suspect then forced her outside of the house and raped her.

The suspect was described as a Black male, in his late teens to mid-20s. He is believed to have short or shaved hair and a medium build. The suspect was wearing a black jacket, black gator-style mask, black jogger style pants with stripes on the lower legs and red and white shoes.
