FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A driver was injured Tuesday night after authorities said the person’s vehicle crashed into multiple utility poles in Fayetteville.

Authorities said that the vehicle was traveling on Ramsey Street near the V.A. Medical Center at about 8:15 p.m. when the driver left the roadway and crashed into the utility poles.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by the Fayetteville Fire Department, police said.

The driver, who was not identified, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Ramsey Street was closed between Rosehill Road and Courtney Street as authorities investigated the crash and crews make repairs to the utility poles. The road reopened before 4:30 a.m.
