Posted — UpdatedRolesville Police Chief Bobby Langston met Tuesday with the Wake County District Attorney to discuss the fatal fire that claimed the lives last week of a mother and child.
Although the crime scene tape came down outside the Bryan home on Roles Saddle Drive, authorities have yet to determine whether a crime occurred there.
Kristy Bryan and her 3-year-old twins were inside the home on Dec. 11 when neighbors spotted smoke coming from the house.
Bryan and one of her sons died in the fire. The other 3-year-old was taken to UNC Hospitals, where he was listed in critical but stable condition Sunday evening.
"I wish to remind the community that this incident is still being investigated as an isolated event," Langston said in a statement. "There are no known threats to the public related to this incident and the Rolesville community continues to be one of the safest in region."
Another child, age 6, lives in the home but had left for school before the fire started at about 8 a.m., Langston said.
