Police: Carrboro man attacked paramedic

A Carrboro man faces a felony charge of assaulting a medical provider after he attacked a paramedic with Orange County EMS, police said Wednesday.

CARRBORO, N.C. — A Carrboro man faces a felony charge of assaulting a medical provider after he attacked a paramedic with Orange County EMS, police said Wednesday.

Officers responded to a medical call at 300 S. Camellia St. at about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday and found Derrel Braggs assaulting a paramedic, police said.

The unidentified paramedic was taken to UNC Hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Braggs also was taken to UNC Hospitals and will be arrested upon his release, police said.
