Police: Body of 50-year-old man found in Rocky Mount pond

Lt. Charles William with the Rocky Mount Police Department said that the body of a 50-year-old man was found in a retaining pond between an Outback Steakhouse and Residence Inn on Gateway Boulevard just before 3 p.m.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police were investigating a suspicious death Sunday night after a body was found in a pond.

Lt. Charles William with the Rocky Mount Police Department said that the body of a 50-year-old man was found in a retaining pond between an Outback Steakhouse and Residence Inn on Gateway Boulevard just before 3 p.m.

Authorities said the man has been identified, but his name is being withheld until family members are notified.
