Police arrest man in connection with 19-year-old found shot to death in vehicle in Rocky Mount

A 19-year-old man was found dead in a vehicle on the side of the road in Rocky Mount on Saturday.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A 19-year-old man was found dead in a vehicle on the side of the road in Rocky Mount on Saturday.

Police responded to a shots fired call around 6 p.m. and found a vehicle in a ditch in the 1100 block of Arbor Lane.

Quatarius Ruffin, the driver, was killed by a gunshot wound.

Early in the investigation, detectives determined the shooting was not a random act of violence and that all persons involved were known to each other.

Rocky Mount police arrested and charged 24-year-old Adrian Knight of Zebulon with first degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. Knight is currently at the Nash County Detention Facility with no bond.
