RALEIGH, N.C. — A man police believe is behind three recent bank robberies in Raleigh has been arrested.

Anthony Tony Thomas was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with three counts of common law robbery.

The three robberies took place over a five-day span. Thomas, 41, did not use a weapon in any of the robberies.
On March 30, Raleigh police officers responded to a bank robbery at the M&F Bank on East Hargett Street. The suspect entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect left.

Police said Thomas did the same on April 3, when officers responded to a bank robbery at the same location and again on April 4, when officers responded to the First Citizens Bank on Fayetteville Street.
