Poe Center takes its parent-child puberty education programs virtual

Poe Center for Health Education's Girl Talk and Guy Talk workshops are popular sessions for families in the region. The in-person workshops open up those sometimes tough conversations about puberty and provide some education and opportunities to have some meaningful discussions.

With the pandemic, those workshops can't take place in their usual form. And because schools are closed for the rest of the academic year, neither can the field trips that often take place at the Poe Center where students learn more about puberty with their classmates.

But the Poe Center has found a workaround — it's going virtual.

The workshops will be live and interactive. "It's the same great content, same engaging activities - just from the safety of people's homes," Jennifer Bell, Poe's marketing director, tells me.
