The Poe Center for Health Education will offer a special session of Guy Talk this Saturday that's designed for boys in fifth to eighth grade and their moms.

"Guy Talk will equip boys with accurate age-appropriate information developed to help with healthy growth and development," according to the description. "Workshop topics include the changes which happen during puberty, the reproductive systems, proper nutrition and hygiene, and online safety. Hands-on activities and Poe’s 3D theater exhibits make this an interactive and engaging experience."

The goal is to foster and encourage open communication between moms and their sons about puberty. A father-son program was held earlier this summer.

Guy Talk for moms and sons is set for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Poe Center at 224 Sunnybrook Rd., Raleigh.

Registration is $25 for each mother/son pair. It's $10 for each additional son. To register, contact Robin Pittman at r.pittman@poehealth.org or 919-231-4006 ext. 322.
