RALEIGH, N.C. — PNC Arena is home to Stanley Cup contenders and some of the biggest acts to perform in Raleigh. All that attention means it might see some new love coming it's way.

It's where you cheer for your Canes, rock out to your favorite artists and now it's about to get a facelift.

“We’ve listened to tour promoters, we’ve listened to the NCAA, we’ve listened to fans and fed all that to our design team,” PNC's Jeff Merritt said.

The renovations will add more meetings spaces plus make PNC a "foodie" destination.

"We want to bring the culinary experience that sort of Raleigh and Durham and, really, North Carolina is known for now into our building," Merritt said.

It's unclear how much money will go into these renovations. That's up to the Wake County Commissioners to decide. They will meet next week to talk about allocating those funds.

With acts such as the Jonas Brothers coming on Wednesday, the changes are certainly welcome.

"Ticket prices won't have to go up to do any of this," Merritt said. "Right now this is all funded from the Wake County hospitality tax. It's a tax that's paid when people come and stay in hotels or go out to eat in Raleigh."

PNC was built in 1999 and has become a North Carolina entertainment destination. Almost everyone we've talked with in Raleigh has been there before for one event or another. They say it's already an experience and these upgrades will only add to that.
