Playing in the Crystal Coast
Residents share how they to play in the Crystal Coast.
Carter County. It's such a large county there, so many wonderful places to see from our Downeast area all the way through our Emerald Isle area, not just the beaches on the coast, but we have some wonderful landscapes outside of that. My favorite place to play in the Crystal Coast is probably on the sound, where I can explore everything from longleaf pines to the tiniest salt marsh grasses. If you are active and fit, this is a great place for you can always go outside and get your workout in surfing, biking, kayaking. I mean, you name it. It's endless. Meet friends workout. I belong to a very active Zuma class, loved dancing, doing charitable work and involving myself in the community. The fly fishing here's is incredible. Most people think that fly fishing, they thinks freshwater trout in the mountains. But salt water fly fishing is increasingly more popular, and this is one of the best places in the East Coast. To do that, the perfect Saturday morning is getting up, loading the boat, heading out and finding a place to relax. You have to drop down and see Cedar Island and then spend a little time in each of the amazing little mom and pop shops that are all up and down the Crystal Coast and just chill out. It's awesome to take a long walk and Beaufort, and to see Ah, Hole of the beautiful yachts that are coming in. Just the history here is amazing. You go to downtown Beaufort Sea houses that were from hundreds of years ago. It's Ah, it's a really remarkable area to be downtown. Morehead City is really growing, and we have great restaurants and great shopping actually. Now, down there, this terrific ride your bike bar hot, open your ears. It's good time. One of my family's favorite places to play our parks, our parks and RECs departments here in Carter County are absolutely phenomenal. They're always looking to grow our parks, expand them and make them fit. Family friendly for making has a really great trail that's great for all ages. Part of it's on the beach, part of its in like a wooded area, and it's always a great place to go anywhere that you could go and get on the water and get away from the hustle and bustle of the town and see that the natural beauty of the land and the water and the estuaries and stuff. That's what I was
