FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — The Playhouse Children's Museum in Fuquay-Varina reopened last week for limited play inside for young children and families.
The business, a creation of local parents Rob and Jolene Ehlers, opened in December as a place for young families to play.

The indoor play space includes lots of opportunities for pretend play, a reading nook, a dedicated toddler session and more. It's best for ages 10 and under.

The business closed in March because of the pandemic, but reopened last week with a limited capacity. It also has offered some camps.

To play, guests will need to reserve a 90-minute spot through the museum's website. According to its Facebook page, the museum is limiting the spots to 40% capacity inside the 3,500-square-feet, which translates into 15 kids and up to two parents per family for each session.

Other safety measures include seating spaced six feet apart, health screenings for both kids and adults, more hand sanitizer in the play area and additional cleanings.

Staff will be wearing masks, and anybody over the age of 11 will also need to wear a mask.

"We have really just been so excited to get this back up and open, and we finally found a way to do it, and we're so excited about it," Jolene Ehlers said in a video on the museum's Facebook page to announce the reopening.

The spot also is now open for birthday party reservations.
