PITTSBORO, N.C. — The death of a man in a Chatham County house fire was ruled a homicide Wednesday, the sheriff's office said.

Just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, a passing motorist called in the fire at a mobile home at 638 Mitchells Chapel Road, just west of Pittsboro.

After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters located the body later identified as 32-year-old Martin Catalan Uriostegui.
