Pittsboro man arrested on child porn charges
A convicted sex offender is in jail after local authorities arrested after him last month on charges of child pornography, authorities said Monday.

John Foster, 81, of 356 Marshall Road, was charged May 23 with one count each of felonious second-degree sexual exploitation and felonious third-degree sexual exploitation after the Chatham County Sheriff's Office conducted a compliance check and found him in possession of the porn.
Foster, who moved to Chatham County in 2009, was convicted in New Hampshire in 2006 for numerous sex offenses against a child and was placed on probation.
He was jailed in Chatham County under a $175,000 secured bond. His court date is scheduled for July 2.
