Pitt County, N.C. — A Pitt County man is facing new charges, including attempted murder.
Michael Crandell, 44, is also charged with kidnapping, assault by strangulation and assault on a female, according to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office.
On Saturday, the sheriff's office received a report of a string of assaults on Friday that had occurred in a vehicle in multiple locations around Ayden.
Crandell was already in custody for DWI, driving with a revoked license and speeding by the time he was charged with the additional crimes.
Crandell is being held without bond in the Pitt County Detention Center. The case is still under investigation.
