A man accused of sex offenses against a child in Pitt County was arrested in Richmond, Va. last week, authorities said Sunday.

<b>RICHMOND, VA.</b> — A man accused of sex offenses against a child in Pitt County was arrested in Richmond, Va. last week, authorities said Sunday.

Lannice Lavert Collins, 47, is awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

In November 2010, Pitt County investigators asked Collins to take a polygraph related to allegations that he committed sex offenses against a child over a three-year period.

Authorities said Collins fled the area. He was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and charged with first-degree sex offense Jan. 20.
