Pitt Co. man charged with home invasion

Greenville, N.C. — Wayne County sheriff's deputies charged a Greenville man with attempted murder for a December home invasion.
Deputies arrested Terrance Lee Melton, 18, of 440 Northwest Acres Drive, on Tuesday. He is charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was held on $20,000 secured bond.
Deputies said Melton and another person committed a home invasion on Dec. 16 in Faro. The victim, who was not identified, was shot several times, but has recovered.
