CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Water customers in Chapel Hill and Carrboro might get discolored water while crews repair a water main on Monday night.
Two southbound lanes in the 200 block of North Columbia Street, north of Rosemary Street, in Chapel Hill were closed around 7 p.m. for the repairs, said officials with the Orange Water and Sewer Authority. Traffic detours were set up.

Water service could be interrupted for some OWASA customers near the repair site. Service to the Chapel Hill Town Hall and fire station on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard should not be affected.

OWASA officials said the repairs might cause some water to appear discolored or have air bubbles. If that happens, run cold water in the bathtub for five minutes.

If problems persist, call OWASA at 919-968-4421.
