The flavor is not completely new, but this year, the dough is safe to eat raw so you can dig into the package without even having to bake it! Of course, if you choose to eat it raw, you will be missing out on the glorious smell that goes along with baking cookies, but it’s nice to have the option to eat it raw if you just can’t wait to take a bite of caramel apple goodness.
Pillsbury’s
entire line of ready-to-bake cookies will be safe to eat raw by the end of the summer, including favorite flavors like chocolate chip and sugar cookie, plus seasonal treats like pumpkin,
hot cocoa and
All ready-to-bake products will now have a “Safe to Eat Raw” seal showing that you can either eat them right from the package or bake them. So, if you want to sneak a bite of the raw dough before popping the cookies in the
oven, you can now do so safely.
Pillsbury says the new safe-to-eat-raw doughs taste the same as the versions you already know, as the recipe has not changed. The only difference is that the company is now using heat-treated flour and pasteurized eggs, which makes it safe to enjoy the dough without
baking it.
Nestle’s doughs are available at select stores like Walmart, ShopRite, Hy-Vee, Meijer and others.

The Cookie Dough Cafe also has a handful of edible cookie dough flavors, including confetti cake and
Oreo. You can order them online or find them at Walmart.
