Pickup truck brings down power pole in downtown Raleigh

Raleigh, N.C. — Crews were busy replacing a broken power pole in downtown Raleigh early Thursday morning after a truck crashed into it, snapping it in half, overnight.
The crash occurred before 1 a.m. on West Morgan Street near Mayo Street.
Crews at the scene told WRAL News a pickup truck hit the pole, snapping it at its base.
Duke Energy was at the scene all night, and crews were still making repairs at 5 a.m.
Officials did not know when the road would reopen.
There were some reports of power outages in the area.
