You have similar influence when it comes to your relationship with your child care provider or teacher. Have you ever asked yourself what you can do to improve child care – specifically your child’s care or child care as a whole in North Carolina? If you haven’t, take a minute to think about it. What small thing could you do today to impact child care? Here are three ideas to consider!
1. A partnership will take you far! Develop a partnership with your child’s teachers as well as the child care facility director. By communicating and working with your child’s child care provider, you can identify potential areas of concerns and help reinforce new skills. The more information and communication your child’s teacher receives, the better job that teacher will do!
2. Talk to your friends, neighbors, coworkers and families about quality care. Far too many people still think of child care as babysitting and do not know the importance of quality early care and education. Share just how important quality care is to a child’s future. Educate the people you know and connect them to area resources if they have questions.
