MEBANE, N.C. — The family of Devin Clark, 18, who was found murdered in western Orange County, said they are left without many answers about what happened to their son on Friday night.

"I just want this to be over with," said his mother, Tiffany Concepcion. "I want justice, I want peace. I want to see my child, and I want to lay him (to rest) and know the right person got justice."

But days after his body was found, Concepcion is left in limbo. She can't make funeral arrangements for her son because she has not been called in to identify him in person.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office, the agency handling her son's murder investigation, has not provided a reason for why they have not called Concepcion to identify her son's body.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday that a petition had been filed against a 17-year-old boy in connection to Clark's death. That teen, accused of first-degree murder, is not in custody yet. On Wednesday, Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall had not decided if he is going to charge the 17-year-old boy as an adult.

"Without knowing any details, it's hard for her, or anyone, to see this as justice," said Jason Keith, attorney for Concepcion. "Allow this young lady to see her son. It's been days now."

Devin Clark, 18, was found dead Sunday, according to his family

Clark and a friend, Lyric Woods, 14, were reported missing over the weekend. Family members said the bodies found Sunday afternoon near Buckhorn and Yarborough roads were those of the missing teens.

"This young lady deserves to see and know it’s her child," Keith said. "Every second, every minute, is hard and we want her to have the opportunity."
