Pet of the Day

Pet of the Day has been part of WRAL's newscasts for almost four decades.

Working with rescue groups and animal care facilities, the segment helps thousands of animals find their “furever” homes through television exposure on our morning and noon newscasts. We are proud of that partnership and the success rate our “pets of the day” have in terms of adoption.

Roxie is a 1-year-old cat who is a very gentle soul and shy at first. She does come with a bonus in the form of her sister, Trixie, who really helps Roxie build her trust in new situations. Butters has a very loud purr and loves to snuggle with people. He's very outgoing and bonds very quickly with people. He'd make a perfect companion for a quiet household that can be vigilant about his dietary needs.
