Man seriously injured in shooting at Durham apartment complex

A 38-year-old man was taken to the hospital early Friday after being shot multiple times inside an apartment off Ellis Road in south Durham, police said.

DURHAM, N.C. — A 38-year-old man was taken to the hospital early Friday after being shot multiple times inside an apartment off Ellis Road in south Durham, police said. 

Officers responding to a shooting call about 4 a.m. found the man at the Colonial Grande Apartments at RTP, located on Stone Lion Drive, with life-threatening injuries. His name has not been released. 

According to investigators, two armed men forced their way into the apartment and shots were fired. Police do not believe it was a random incident. 

No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
