ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police want to question a 21-year-old man about the death of another man found lying in the road earlier this month.

Police described Travis Rashad Ricks as a person of interest in death of Charles Creech, who was found lying in the road at Columbia Avenue and Ridge Street July 11.

Creech had facial injuries and was transported to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He died three days later.

Police described Ricks as a black man, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall. He is known to frequent the Briarwood Court area of Nashville and the Little Easonburg area and 3300 block of Sunset Avenue in Rocky Mount. He might be driving a white Saturn.

Ricks is also wanted for twice failing to appear in court on charges of first-degree trespassing and an alcohol violation, police said.

Anyone with information about Ricks' whereabouts should call Rocky Mount police at 252-972-1411.
