FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One man was killed in a motorcycle crash late Saturday.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the crash occurred at Village Drive and Robeson Street around 9:30 p.m. The road was closed several hours

According to officials, the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved. An investigation revealed that the motorcycle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, identified as 57-year-old Bobby D. Cogdell, was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries.
