Woman dies from early morning Fayetteville crash

A woman died in a crash along Rosehill Road near Durwood Drive early Wednesday morning.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman died in a crash along Rosehill Road near Durwood Drive early Wednesday morning.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the crash before 1 a.m., where they found an overturned car with multiple people inside.

One passenger, 41-year-old Renata Castro, died at the scene, police said. The driver, a 20-year-old woman, and another passenger, a 14-year-old girl, were transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital. The other passenger was said to have sustained life-threatening injuries, but is in stable condition. The driver's injuries were minor.  

Rosehill Road between Durwood Drive and Shaw Mill Road were closed while police investigated. Police are still looking into what caused the crash.
