One person died Tuesday in a crash involving five cars on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — One person died Tuesday night in a crash involving five cars on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh.

Officials with the State Highway Patrol confirm that crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. between Mattlyn Court and N. Falls Drive.

According to officials, a car traveling above the speed limit sideswiped a second car and hit a third car head-on. The third car overturned and struck a fourth car. In the process of overturning, it also blew a tire and struck a fifth car.

One person died at the scene, and five others were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The name of the victim was not released.

The crash is under investigation.
