Man shot at North Hills in Raleigh has non-life-threatening injuries, knew shooter
Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting at the North Hills Shopping Center Sunday night.
Posted — UpdatedAround 7:30 p.m., officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near the Regal movie theater at 4150 Main at North Hills St., close to the Christmas tree and green space in the busy shopping center.
A man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooter and the victim knew each other, police said.
Police said the shooter was questioned, but no arrests have been made.
A press release stated the incident was isolated and there was no threat to the public, but Thanksgiving weekend is a busy time for shopping, and people were outside walking around at the time of the shooting.
North Hills released the following statement:
- Have emergency plans in place before they head to any public place
- Create a unique code unique to your family
- If you see something, say something
- Look for signs of individuals that display erratic behavior
"Having that conversation is key charge your cellphones and determine a meeting place," Demeo said.
Shootings happened at other busy shopping centers as well.
An investigation into the North Hills shooting is ongoing.
