RALEIGH, N.C. — No arrests have been made after a former employee drove a car into a Massage Envy spa on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh Wednesday morning, according to police.

Photos from the scene show a massive hole in the front of the business, at 8357 Creedmoor Road, and pieces of the car strewn across the lobby area.

Witnesses said the woman plowed into the business at about 11:30 a.m. and then backed up and drove off.

"There was a huge boom, and I heard shattering glass. I heard women screaming," said Brian Murray, who was inside Massage Envy at the time. "At that point, I knew this was intentional because the car wasn't there anymore. The bumper was left, the car was gone."

"(The car) went off into the walkway and then straight into the doors," a caller told 911.

A couple of people who work nearby said the driver then sat in the parking lot for a while before pushing out her shattered windshield and driving off.

Despina's Cafe Owner Despina Georgiou said the employees were traumatized.

"Crying and screaming," she said. "One of the ladies got injured. The ambulance came."

She says employees told her the fired worker became enraged and threw computers to the floor, prompting a call to police. A couple of hours later, they said the employee returned, slamming her car through the front door.

"One of the ladies pushed the assistant manager away, otherwise she would have been injured," Georgiou said.

On Thursday, nearby employees said they just want to feel safe again.
