ROXBORO, N.C. — Person County Emergency Management participated in an active shooter drill on Thursday to prepare its officials on how to respond should an incident happen.
There were active shooter training exercises at Person County Northern Middle School and Piedmont Community College. Doug Young, Person County’s Emergency Management Director, said around 160 people from schools, first responders and state and regional support agencies attended. The exercise was even shown on live stream to allow teachers and staff to watch in real time.
“It’s all about enhancing our emergency plans and skills,” Young said.
