TIMBERLAKE, N.C. — An elementary school in Person County Schools will be closed for over a week because of a coronavirus cluster.

Helena Elementary School will transition to online-only learning until Nov. 5.

On Monday, school officials said an additional employee and two students tested positive for the virus. The school had previously reported an employee had tested positive for the virus on Oct. 20.

School officials said there are some students who will need to quarantine. The parents of those children have already been contacted.

Coronavirus cases have also been found at Northern Middle School, Person High School and Early-Intervention Pre-school in the school system.
