Perdue truck catches fire on US 1 in New Hill area
An Perdue chicken truck caught fire on U.S. Highway 1 in New Hill on Monday.

NEW HILL, N.C. — An Perdue chicken truck caught fire on U.S. Highway 1 in New Hill on Monday.
The crash occurred in the southbound lanes before 9:30 a.m. near New Hill Holleman Road, close to the Harris Nuclear Plant and Wake County Convenience Center. U.S. 1 southbound was closed in the area.
Sky 5 showed the charred front of the Perdue truck and traffic at a standstill.
A witness told WRAL News at least two other vehicles were involved.
WRAL is working to learn the cause of the crash and if anyone was injured.
