Pembroke man arrested, facing numerous drug-related charges

The Robeson County Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged a man on multiple drug-related offenses after he was pulled over after deputies said they witnessed a drug transaction.

PEMBROKE, N.C. — The Robeson County Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged a man on multiple drug-related offenses after he was pulled over after deputies said they witnessed a drug transaction.

Jeffery Randall Brooks Jr., 39, of Pembroke, was arrested and placed in the Robeson County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond. He's facing the following charges:

Trafficking Opium or Heroin
Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance
Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule III Controlled Substance
Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance
Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Driving without License, Careless and Reckless Driving
Failure to stop at a stop light and Displaying Fictitious License Plates

Deputies said Drug Enforcement Division Investigators with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office observed a hand to hand drug transaction in the Fullers BBQ parking lot in Pembroke. A pursuit of a 2013 Hyundai Genesis ensued before the vehicle pulled into the Napa Auto Parts parking lot on 3rd Street.

Officials found marijuana, suboxone strips and fentanyl patches during a search of the vehicle. A search was then conducted at a residence on Cypress Lane in Pembroke. Investigators located and seized 2,271 prescription pills, a mixture of Oxycodone, Xanax, Oxymorphone and Methadone. Investigators said they also located and seized Fentanyl patches and Suboxone strips at the location. Investigators also seized $18,301 in cash and a 2005 Maserati passenger vehicle.
