Pedestrian struck, killed while crossing Fayetteville road

A 75-year-old woman was struck and killed Wednesday evening as she tried to cross Cedar Creek Road in Fayetteville, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 75-year-old woman was struck and killed Wednesday evening as she tried to cross Cedar Creek Road in Fayetteville, police said.

The woman, identified as Florence Weiner of East Windsor, N.J., was hit near Bureau Drive around 7:20 p.m. by a 2007 Hyundai driven by Joshua Lee, 27, of Fayetteville.

Lee was not injured. It wasn't clear whether he would be charged.

No other information was released.
