<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — A pedestrian was killed after being hit by an 18 wheeler in Durham on Thursday.

The accident happened in the 1600 block of Avondale Drive around 3 p.m.

Police said drivers in the area should expect heavy traffic delays.
