Pedestrian struck during hit-and-run in Chapel Hill, police searching for gray SUV

A pedestrian is in the hospital after being struck during a hit-and-run in Chapel Hill on Sunday night.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police are looking for a driver that hit a pedestrian.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. Sunday night on Old Durham Rd., near Scarlett Drive.

Police said the driver did not stay at the scene.

They also said they have reason to believe the car depicted in the image below to be involved in the crash.

The pedestrian was taken to UNC Hospitals.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 911 or the Orange County Communications Center.
