Pedestrian seriously hurt in south Raleigh
A driver hit a pedestrian in south Raleigh on Thursday morning.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — A driver hit a pedestrian in south Raleigh on Thursday morning.
A 61-year-old man was walking in the roadway in the 3800 block of South Wilmington Street, a service road along U.S. Highway 70, when he was hit at about 6:15 a.m., police said.
The man, whose name hasn't been released, was taken to WakeMed with what a police spokeswoman called serious, life-threatening injuries.
A car with front-end damage, including a missing grill and bumper and damage to the windshield, was at the scene when police arrived. Clothes were on the ground in the street behind the car.
