Pedestrian killed on I-440 in Raleigh

Raleigh, N.C. — A pedestrian was killed on Interstate 440 near New Bern Avenue in Raleigh shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
The incident temporarily closed all westbound lanes of I-440.
The pedestrian was identified as Jason Tyler Long of Maryland.
Long was found in the middle of the interstate no in a designated crosswalk area.
A witness stated that two drivers swerved to avoid striking him, but one car hit him.
Long was hit a second time by a third car, authorities said.
Raleigh police are investigating the fatal collision.
