Pedestrian killed in Raleigh hit-and-run

Raleigh police were searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 41-year-old man along Capital Boulevard early Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a man walking along Capital Boulevard early Saturday.

Richard Christopher Maher, 41, of Knightdale, was killed while along the southbound lanes of the road, near Interstate 440, around 3:45 a.m., police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

The driver of the vehicle has not been caught.
