Police are searching for the driver of a truck or SUV that struck and killed a 53-year-old woman in Fayetteville Thursday evening.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police are searching for the driver of a truck or SUV that struck and killed a 53-year-old woman in Fayetteville Thursday evening.
Barbara Thaggard, of Lake Avenue in Spring Lake, was crossing Grove Street, near the B Street intersection, when she was hit around 7 p.m. The driver did not stop, police said.
While Thaggard was lying in the road, she was struck by a second vehicle.
