MORRISVILLE, N.C. — State troopers said that a suspect in a hit-and-run on Interstate 40 West was killed while running across the eastbound lanes of the highway Saturday.

Daniel Molina, of Clayton, was struck by a car on I-40 East, near Airport Boulevard, around 10:30 p.m. The driver, who is from Virginia, will not be charged.

Troopers said they believe that Molina was involved in a hit-and-run that had occurred a few minutes before on I-40 West. No serious injuries were reported in that wreck.
