Pedestrian hit, killed in Raleigh, driver charged with felony hit and run
A pedestrian was killed walking across the street at the intersection of East Millbrook Avenue and Departure Drive at around 1 a.m. Friday morning.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A pedestrian was killed walking across the street at the intersection of East Millbrook Avenue and Departure Drive at around 1 a.m. Friday morning.
The driver was heading east on East Millbrook Road when he struck Charles Downey, 40, of Creedmoor.
Officials say the driver fled the scene in a white van and headed down Capital Boulevard.
Downey was rushed to WakeMed with serious injuries and died early Friday morning.
Javier-Joel Negron-Villegas, 45, of Raleigh was arrested at his home, according to officials.
