Pedestrian dies in Fayetteville wreck; second vehicle sought

A 56-year-old Fayetteville man died early Friday after he was hit by a car while crossing South Reilly Road near Willowbrook Drive, authorities said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 56-year-old Fayetteville man died early Friday after he was hit by a car while crossing South Reilly Road near Willowbrook Drive, authorities said. 

According to police, Raymond Anthony Lynn tried to cross the road just before midnight when he was hit by a 1994 Honda driven by 28-year-old Rivera Sanchez. Lynn died at the scene.

Shortly after the initial wreck, authorities said, another car hit Lynn's body and left the scene.

Anyone with information about the second car involved in the wreck should contact the Fayetteville Police Department. 

It wasn't clear if Sanchez would face charges, but police said an investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing. 

No other information was released.
