Pedestrian dies after Raleigh crash
A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Wake Forest Road, Raleigh police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle, Raleigh police said Friday.
Alvis Gerald Wells Jr., 56, of Raleigh, ran across Falls of Neuse Road between Ronald Drive and Old Wake Forest Road shortly after 8 p.m. into the path of a northbound car driven by Mitchell Lance Manson, according to a Raleigh police report.
Wells wasn't in a crosswalk, and the area wasn't lit by streetlights, the report states.
Wells was taken to WakeMed, where he died. Manson wasn't injured.
No charges have been filed.
