RALEIGH, N.C. — Patchy rain is in the forecast for Friday but heavier precipitation is on the way for the weekend.

WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said the Triangle will see showers for the morning rush hour commute.

"Overnight, a little rain has snuck in here so don't be surprised if it's wet when you go outside," she said. "There's a slight chance for a little patchy rain."

Temperatures will reach the low 60s before falling back into the 50s.

The high-pressure system that brought a string of dry days to central North Carolina has moved out of the area and warmer, moister air is moving in from the south.

That means much of Saturday will be cloudy and rainy, Gardner said.
