I am so excited to announce that I am partnering with Lowes Foods for their Friends Feeding Friends Food Drive to collect food for our local food banks! This food drive makes it so easy to donate to those struggling to put food on the table. There are a number of different ways to donate including in-store bins at all Lowes Foods stores, at any of my upcoming 2011 couponing classes and through monetary donations. Read on for all the details.

Gift card giveaway!

To get things started, we are giving away a Lowes Foods Gift Card! Maybe the winner can use some of the $25 to purchase a few items to donate! To enter, post in the comments section below that you pledge to donate at least one item this season to someone in need. Every can of vegetables and every jar of peanut butter makes a difference.

Donate at upcoming classes
As part of our partnership, I will be collecting food at all of my upcoming couponing classes through the end of the year and will make sure they get to Lowes Foods for this food drive. Anyone who makes a donation at a class gets an extra door prize ticket, as well!  I'll also collect food at the Coupon Swap at Chick-fil-A at the White Oak Shopping Center on December 8th from 9:30 am - 10:30 am. For more information on the coupon swap, click the the Upcoming Coupon Swaps link in the box above. For a list of upcoming classes, click HERE.
About the Food Drive

The Friends Feeding Friends food drive is the largest food drive in North Carolina and Lowes Foods has been collecting food for the drive for 17 years! This year, Lowes Foods started collecting food and monetary donations in all of their stores across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia on November 2 and will continue the food drive through December 31st.  The donations collected here in the Triangle will go to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. The goal this year is to raise over 600,000 pounds of food, equal to around 504,000 meals for those in need.

You have a few different options to support this food drive:

Donate non-perishable items to the donation bins located at the front of each store

Purchase and donate pre-made bags of non-perishable items most needed in the food banks in any Lowes Foods or Just $ave Foods store

Donate cash at the register in increments of $1.00, $3.00 and $5.00 amounts

AND, as I indicated above, you can bring food to any of my couponing classes from now until the end of the year and I will make sure they get to Lowes Foods for this food drive. Anyone who makes a donation at a class gets an extra door prize ticket!

Thanks to all of you who donate food regularly and I hope many of you will take advantage of this convenient way to donate to your neighbors in need right at your neighborhood grocery store!
