Dr. Lisa Sacco, a licensed psychologist with Orenstein Solutions in Cary, is back this week with more tips on surviving the teen years.

This week she talks about the danger zone - signs your teen might be in trouble.

Sacco tells me that parents need to be on the lookout for big changes in behavior. It might be a drop in grades for a good student;  complaints that she can't concentrate or he doesn't have any energy; or maybe she's no longer interested in a hobby that she once loved.

And while drug use is always a top concern for parents with teens, Sacco says other factors could lead to problems too, including anxiety and depression.

"You know your kids," she says. "You need to look for how your kid is different."

To learn more, watch the video. And check out Orenstein Solutions website to learn more about the counseling services, workshops and programs that it offers.

Sacco will be back next Wednesday with another tip for parents with  teens.
