Paperhand Puppet's popular summer show returns to the stage this summer

Paperhand Puppet Intervention's fanciful summer stage show is back.

The local group known for its puppets of all kinds and sizes will return to both the Forest Theatre in Chapel Hill and then the N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh. Shows are scheduled on select days from Aug. 27 to Sept. 26 at Forest Theatre. They are Oct. 1 to Oct. 3 at the art museum.

The show is called "Unfolding Seeds: Invocations of Transformation" and it's "rooted in gratitude, wonder and thanksgiving," according to Paperhand's website. The show is told through communal storytelling, shadows, masks and the giant puppets that Paperhand is known for.

A few changes this year: Tickets should be purchased in advance so that the group can monitor audience capacity. Also, Paperhand will only be selling half of the Forest Theatre's capacity (so 500 tickets per show).

"Tickets are in limited supply this year," Paperhand's website says.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors and $10 for kids ages 4 to 14.  There's also a pay what you can option.
